Whew! It's almost half-way through May, and we haven't had a chance to do the April roundup yet. Things are going so well! Here's the custom work we had a chance to do in April. Please keep us in mind for any special occasions or just because you want a treat. We love all kinds of orders!
Bunko! We had a fun order to do a bunch of dice cookies for a bunko party for the Roxborough Women's Network.
We loved the theme of this party...although we usually keep the bugs out of our kitchen. The ladybug pretzels were a huge hit as well as the caterpillar cake and cupcakes. We adored the bug smash cake...and we hear the birthday boy did, too!
It's a boy! These cookies were ordered to celebrate when the mom-to-be found out she was having a boy. Such a great treat!
We finally got to do a belly cake...and how fun that it was in camouflage and hunter's orange! Apparently the kids at the shower pushed that belly button so much that it was an inny by the time they cut the cake!
We loved this sweet baptism cake. The sleeping baby was hand painted and made out of gum paste.
How much fun is this Barbie rockstar cake?! This cake was a little girl's dream, and we loved making it. We hear she had a great birthday!
We participated in the Silent Auction for the Roxborough Elementary Schools sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Involvement Committee. We proudly donated four cakes, and this Phantom of the Opera cake was one of them. This has fondant piano keys, sugar crystals, a rose, and a white-chocolate mask. Completely edible, this cake was as delicious as it was beautiful.
Another cake we donated to the Silent Auction was this tuxedo cake. It's three amazing layers of chocolate cake with a white chocolate buttercream and a drippy chocolate ganache. Of course you can't go wrong with chocolate-covered strawberries. You can find this on our Everyday Cakes page.
Sonic was a fun game we played in our childhood, so imagine our surprise when we got this order. We're so happy that Sonic is still around and kickin'. This was a two layer chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. And you can't leave out the golden rings!
We loved this simple but fabulous Minnie Mouse cake with coordinating cookies. It was simply precious! The cake was a strawberry cake with strawberry Swiss meringue buttercream and was covered in strawberry fondant...which tastes and smells exactly like Laffy Taffy.
Flower Power! This graffiti cake was a blast. It was a 6-inch square cake covered in black fondant and then we got to have a lot of fun with different colors and shapes.
There are times when you just want to eat cake, right? We had a customer order this simple one-layer cake for a work occasion, and we thought it was perfect. We completely understand there are days when a piece of chocolate cake with vanilla frosting is all you need. We're here for you (and we have those days a lot!).
We've already done some great work in May, so stay tuned! And don't forget to place your orders so you don't miss out!
